Dr. Gustavo Siles, co-hosted the first online roundtable «»Satellite communications as a support during the COVID-19 crisis», in collaboration with the Bolivian Space Agency (ABE). This event is part of the cooperation agreement between both institutions, aimed to spread knowledge and develop joint projects.
The event was on July 6th and the panel was composed by MSc Cristina Vilardell (UMRPSFX), the Engineering and Operation Directors from ABE, Dr. Alexis Andrade and Ing. Martín Garcia, respectively, Dr.Siles as chairman. During the roundtable, the focus was on discussing the possibility of using DTH systems, Internet satellite connections and satellite backhaul for mobile networks using TKSAT-1, in order to tackle the current crisis caused by COVID-19.
